Laissez Parlé (“we,” “our”) is published by S & S Consulting Group. This policy describes what the iOS app and the website at laissezparle.com collect and why.
Summary
Laissez Parlé is designed for offline heritage study. Study content (words, units, and pictures) ships with the app. Your learning progress is stored on your device. We do not sell personal data.
Information we collect
- On-device progress. Lesson progress, review state, and preferences stay in local storage on your device (for example Apple’s App storage / AsyncStorage). This data does not leave your device unless you use system backups that you control (such as iCloud device backup).
- Support email. If you write to support@ssconsultinggroup.net, we receive the address and content you send so we can help you.
- Website logs. Like most sites, our web server may record standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps) for security and reliability. We do not use these logs for advertising profiles.
Information we do not collect
- We do not require an account or login inside the iOS app for core study features.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers in the app.
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
Audio & microphone
The app plays bundled study audio. If a future feature uses the microphone (for example optional pronunciation practice), iOS will ask for permission first. You can deny permission and continue using the rest of the app. We do not upload microphone audio to our servers unless a future feature clearly says so and you choose to use it.
Children
Laissez Parlé is a general-audience heritage learning tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing. Parents or guardians with questions may contact us at the address below.
Third-party services
App distribution is handled by Apple (App Store). Apple’s privacy practices apply to App Store purchases, downloads, and any Apple services you use. Content citations inside the app (for example scholarly dictionaries) are attributions only — visiting a publisher’s site is optional and covered by that site’s policy.
Data retention
On-device progress remains until you delete the app or use an in-app reset (if available). Support emails are retained only as long as needed to resolve your request and meet ordinary business records needs. Server access logs are rotated on a routine schedule.
Your choices
- Delete the app to remove local study data from the device (subject to any backups you manage).
- Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence we hold.
- Use iOS Settings to review app permissions (microphone, etc.).
Changes
We may update this policy as the product grows. The “Effective” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app or website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
